Francisco Vasquez De Coronado

In 1541, Francisco Vasquez de Coronado and his legion of conquistadors began searching for Cibola and the Seven Cities of Gold.  While he did not find what he was looking for, this Spanish Conquistador spent over a month with the Quivira in Rice County.
