Research Information

The Coronado Quivira Museum hosts a research library including an extensive collection of research and writings on historic topics relevant to Rice County history.  The library is open during museum hours.  Museum admission is required of non-county residents and non-RCHS members to use the research library.

Staff of the museum can perform research when requested, utilizing the full extent of museum archival and photographic collections.  Fees for this service are listed at the left.  To submit a research request, contact the museum at 620-257-3941 or e-mail

  • Books on specific Rice County historical topics, sites and characters
  • Scrapbooks on topics such as Cemeteries, Churches and Schools in Rice County
  • Genealogical files and books on families who made Rice County home
  • Extensive obituary collection from Rice County newspapers
  • Cemetery Records for all past and present cemeteries
  • Marriage licenses for ceremonies performed in Rice County
  • School census and other school records

Base Research Fee:  $15.00
(Includes two hours of research.  Fee waived for RCHS Members)
Additional Hours:  $10.00/hour

Letter size copies:  .50/page
Legal size copies:  .75/page
Marriage Certificate copies:  1.00/copy
Legal Record copies:  1.00/copy
Photograph copies: 1.25/copy
